projects 2: the serial monitor
The 32U4 microcontroller in the Arno is a very simple computer. Without a monitor to display text, it’s difficult to know what’s happening inside of a program. This becomes an issue when you start writing more complex programs and you need to know what's going on in your program. The solution is a serial monitor, which allows us to communicate back and forth between a PC and the Arno in plain text.
You'll want to either the clone the sketches into the Condebender web interface or use the Arduino IDE for these projects since you need a serial monitor. The serial monitor can be opened in the Codebender by clicking the serial monitor button or in the Arduino IDE by clicking the serial monitor icon or by pressing Crtl-Shift-M. Upload this sketches to your Arno, wait a moment for each upload to complete, and then open the serial monitor to see the output.
